Fishing for Mackerel at Indian Point. Sadly this wasn’t one that we caught. However, we did catch one later but the camera battery had died by then.

Although we live right on the ocean, the view from our window is usually rather serene, flat water, the occasional white horse but nothing more.
However, today was a slightly different story as Nova Scotia suffered the effects of hurricane Bill.

As you probably all know my parents and sisters were here from the 1st-15th of this month. It was great to see them and to explore Nova Scotia a little more. We actually visited Shubenacadie (pronounced “Shoo-ben-ack-a-dee”) Wildlife Park on the very last day they were here but these are the photos I have to hand at the moment and I thought there was no harm in working backwards…
Wildlife Park
First of all, I had to try and teach the gorillas to map read –
Map Reading
Once that was sorted, we moved on to look at some of the other animals…
Bear
Don’t they just look so cute? I wouldn’t want to take my chances though.
Eagle
These Eagles had been brought to the park after being injured. They have been nursed back to health but sadly aren’t able to fend for themselves in the wild anymore.
Otter

Last week one of my oldest friends from Scotland came over to visit. We spent quite a lot of time at the beach…
Cait @ Bayswater Beach
They even had lifeguards on duty…
Lifeguards
Eventually we plucked up the courage to jump in the Atlantic for a swim, however, sadly don’t have any photographic proof!
We also explored Aspotogen Pointe…
Mermaid
Cait thought she’d try her hand at being a mermaid but sadly her singing wasn’t good enough to attract any local sailors. Read the rest of this entry »
